Family Cruise to Cabo June 2025

We kicked off summer 2025 in the best way possible — celebrating Jordan’s 8th grade graduation with a family cruise to Mexico! What better way to honor such a big milestone than sunshine, ocean views, and a little adventure?

The excitement started long before we even stepped on the ship. A few of the kids had never cruised before, so the countdown was real. That Easter, I surprised them with cruise-themed Easter baskets filled with everything they’d need — sunglasses, sunscreen, goggles, flip flops, and all the fun essentials. It made the trip feel official and built the anticipation even more.

Traveling as a family of seven takes strategy, and we’re all about making it work. Instead of flying, we drove to the port, which saved a huge chunk of money. Booking well in advance also gave us time to use payment plans (my favorite budgeting trick), making the trip feel manageable instead of overwhelming. And thanks to our Carnival credit card, we earned double points to help chip away at the balance — every little bit counts when you’re cruising with a big crew!

Once onboard, it was nonstop fun. The kids were in awe of everything — the pools, the shows, the endless food. And yes… Josh, who was 9 at the time, discovered the all-you-can-eat ice cream and was absolutely living his best life. I have to admit, Carnival’s soft serve is dangerously good.

When we arrived in Cabo, it was pure magic. We explored the stunning coastline and took an excursion to see the iconic El Arco de Cabo San Lucas — even more breathtaking in person. Riding in a glass-bottom boat while spotting fish beneath us felt like something out of a travel magazine. We even snorkeled in the crystal-clear water, surrounded by colorful sea life.

Beautiful weather, big laughs, milestone memories, and five happy kids — this trip was everything we hoped it would be and more. Celebrating Jordan this way made it extra special, and it reminded us once again why we love to travel: it brings us together in the best, most unforgettable ways.
